Sonia Callahan visualizes the answer from her caregiver friend in this quilt. Sonia’s question is : what can be the proper image to depict an Alzheimer’s patient?
Sonia’s statement for the quilt : This quilt’s content is the result of asking a friend who is a caregiver for an image to depict in an Alzheimer’s quilt – Her answer was “medications” – Finding the middle road between having the patient be responsible and the caregiver being the supervisor can be a difficult place to find. And taking multiple medications can be overwhelming and offering assistance where the patient maintains self dignity and some responsibility is a care giver’s challenge.
Sonia Callahan dedicates this quilt to Alzheimer’s caregivers who find the middle road in care giving.
